Peppa Pig is an educational cartoon series from the BBC. The series stars Peppa, known as ‘Piggy’, as she lives a happy and carefree childhood in a fictional country in the UK. In the first six episodes, Piglet is a mischievous pig who loves to play tricks on the other pigs. Soon Piglet starts showing signs of anxiety and depression, and begins to question her value.
During her final episode, the pig gets a very traumatic experience that may have been triggered by a recent incident. This makes Pigot feel a bit insecure, and she begins to get even more nervous and anxious about things that seem out of control. The pig then gives this terrifying experience the name “Peppa panic” and it is this name that can be used to describe this type of anxiety disorder.
