If you spend most of your day in a vehicle, you know by now your body is constantly being exposed to various substances from the air, dirt, road dust, and even urine and sweat. Fortunately, this has not been detrimental to your health, but the truth is there are still thousands of small but harmful molecules entering our bloodstream every day. However, now researchers are finding other ways these contaminants enter our bodies.
There are some surprising findings as to why certain trails actually contain a higher amount of toxic chemicals than others. For example, one study found that men who had participated in a trail that followed dirt roads with sand or rocks, had a higher blood level of some toxic metals in their bloodstreams than the more sedentary participants who did not hike.
