It has become a “bad fit” for us all. If we’re lucky, some of the things we would do during the day, such as dressing ourselves, making up our own clothes, or going to a movie in order to be more productive, will be a lot of fun for us. We can easily get a bad fit in our living room.
At least for the moment, I don’t think anyone actually wants to go to the movie theater.
I see the bad fit as a chance to get away from the clutter, and a chance to stretch our limbs and our minds. We are a bunch of people who like to get away from ourselves. So instead of the old “I have to get up, make my bed, make breakfast, etc.” mentality, we are trying to make the best of this bad fit.
I think this is a good thing. I was going to write this post in a way that went from bad fit to bad fit, but the actual writing is much better.
The bad fit has its challenges. Just walking into a movie theater and going to the theater is hard on your body. I have a friend who says going to a movie theater is like running on a treadmill. You feel like you have to constantly push yourself to keep up with the pace. In the good old days, a movie theater was about walking into a darkened theater and going to a movie (with a few snacks and a nice drink, of course).
While this analogy may seem trivial, I think it’s important to know that most people go to a movie theater to eat food, take a break from work, and possibly socialize with friends. The real problem with the bad fit is that a lot of the time the movie theater is not really crowded. So you are constantly having to get yourself into a comfortable position to get through the first few rows.
The bad fit is often a result of poor seating design. The seats in a theater are generally so far apart that it’s easy to get your arms and legs stuck in the aisle. The worst seats in a theater are usually the ones closest to the door, where the movie screen is usually so far away that you can either lean against the wall or lean on the screen.
The bad fit syndrome is so bad it’s actually a thing. I’ve been in so many movie theaters that I’ve started to use it as a term of abuse. The bad fit is the feeling you get upon getting into a seat. The bad fit is the feeling of discomfort you feel upon entering a seat.
People can have bad fits, you can have bad fits, but they don’t all have to do with the movie theater. You can have bad fits in your home as well (especially if you’re having trouble sleeping or have a headache). The problem is that there are so many different kinds of bad fits. Some are called “accommodation fits” because you are not in your own home, but your home is part of a shared space.
The accommodation fit is what happens when you are on a shared space (like an airplane) and you have to share a seat with another person. You might think you are in your own home, but the fact is, you’re not. There are no windows, no doors, no phones, no lights, no internet, etc. It’s just you and that person, and you’re sharing a place.
