the point is to win friends and influence people. And this is what the audiobook series, How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Simon Sinek, teaches you. It is not just about how to win friends and influence people. It is about how to change the way we think and act in order to become the best version of ourselves.
Sounds like a recipe for disaster, right? While we don’t necessarily know the truth behind the story line, we do know it is told in a way that makes us think about our own thought patterns. The narrator, Simon Sinek, does a good job of conveying the idea that we can influence and win friends through the simple act of changing our thought patterns.
The best way to win friends and influence people is to be as smart as possible. But the problem here is that most of us are just as smart as anyone else, so the idea that you can actually be as smart as anyone else would be quite a challenge. Yet, by changing our thought patterns, we become the best version of ourselves.
The problem is that most of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car. However, when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot.
In psychology, it is called self-awareness. In other words, we become aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. Our true selves are then able to control them, so we can’t just get drunk and throw a punch or go to a bar and just forget about it.
Of course, the problem is when we are on autopilot for so long that we forget are on autopilot. Because when we are not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.
When I was a kid, I always used to try to keep my kids from reading my books and I wouldn’t let them leave the house. This is what led me to the idea of an iPod player, so I created an iPod, and I actually played it. It was a pretty big thing.
The problem is when we are in autopilot for so long that we don’t even notice we’re autopilot. Because when we are not even aware of our own habit, routine, impulse, and reaction, then we no longer control them we control us.
Now, it’s important to note that the above quote was written at the top of a new book that’s being released by an organization called Stop the Violence that seeks to persuade people to stop violently attacking their fellow humans. In many cases, this “autopilot” is the result of a person’s own unconscious, irrational, and often-unwilling behavior.
