I am a sales representative for a home sales company. I have been with the company for about six months now and I am about to take on the position of the first sales assistant. I have been doing this job for about two years now. I am the only sales representative in my small town. I love the part of my job where I get to meet my customers and be the face for the company.
This past week my team of sales advisors took me to my local stores. I had no idea that these store-name sales people would be coming to this store and I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t even aware of any of the sales people at the store, and it would be difficult to determine exactly what they would be doing.
They were doing the usual things, sitting around and asking questions. I wasnt really paying much attention, so I was shocked when I was asked to show them something. I asked them if they sold computers and they said no that I should come back tomorrow. I was getting a little nervous because that was the day when they were going to make my life a living hell.
I was just wondering if you knew what that meant. Salespeople are usually in sales when you go to buy something, so they can sell you that thing you’re going to get anyway. They can also get you information from you about what you need to buy so they can help you make a better decision. The sales people at the store were probably doing this.
Well, at least we know that that was your first response. Sales are so overused and overrated, I can’t imagine that the people making those decisions about you are being as bad as they were the day you walked into the store.
It’s like you have two sides of the same coin on your side of the trade. One side is the buyer but the other side is the seller. It’s just that if you don’t do any of those things you can’t do anything else.
I am sure there are many sales people throughout the world who would argue that the decision to buy or sell is not your own. So why wouldn’t you want to do those things? Because you are a human being, and you should be able to make your own decisions. I don’t believe in letting the people who make these decisions determine where you go or what you do. It should be up to you to decide.
The reason I don’t have a job is because I’m a human being. I should be able to make my own decisions. What I mean is that the company I work for, and the people who work for me, know what they are doing, and they would never let you do something that is against your beliefs. If you really are not willing to do it, then you do not need to.
This is usually a very valid argument, but I am not sure the sales reps I interact with would say it. I’m sure they would think it is a good idea to have everyone sign a statement that says they know that they are not allowed to do it, but are letting me do it anyway.
To me, this sort of thing is the flip side of the “you should never trust people who are selling things you don’t need” argument. I don’t think anyone would think that a sales representative would think that they should take advantage of a person who is buying something they don’t need in order to sell it, but they should at least let them know that they aren’t allowed to.
