Now that we are in the final stretch of our holiday season, it’s time to sell our networking skills and get ready to focus on more important things.
It’s time for us to make a change. There are still a lot of new things that we need to do and we want to go with the old way.
We’ll go through the list of things we’ll need to do, but this is our first day of it, and you’re welcome to join in. It’s about getting ready to be a networker.
Selling and networking are two different things. So to sell networking you need a real business, and to sell business skills, you just need a job. But how do you use networking in the real world? The answer is by developing these skills in-house and getting them out to others.
When I was in school, networking was taught pretty much the same way I learned it. I think the best way of getting started with networking and selling is to find a co-worker you trust to have the right mindset and a willingness to share what you know. That sounds like a lot of work. But it’s not. If you do it right, it’s a breeze.
It sounds like networking is the same way that a computer programmer gets a job. But unlike a computer programmer, you don’t have to leave your apartment and you don’t have to leave your life behind. You can get a job in your community and focus on networking. You can get a job in a company that has a similar philosophy and become a part of it. And you can get a job in a company that is in a different industry, focusing on networking.
Cisco has a very specific definition of networking. It’s a set of interconnections between computers over shared resources. And what that means is that one person with a Cisco ID, and a network at their disposal, is able to do a great deal of work. It sounds like networking is great, but it can also be a lot of work as far as getting the job of networking done is concerned.
Cisco’s definition of networking is so specific because they’re the best at it, plus they’re very open to working with people from outside the networking industry. But more importantly, Cisco has a lot of people who are very good at networking. For example, Cisco has a very active developer community. In fact, the developer community is so active that some companies use Cisco’s developer resources to help recruit developers to their project teams.
